Triple Goddess for Halloween

Halloween is the time for all things spooky, and witchy and of course I couldn't leave out my favorite Goddess Trio.

I take a lot of inspiration for my creative sessions in goddesses. If you've ever been in front of my camera (and are female) chances are I've called you a goddess a time or two. Simply because I think every woman has a goddess in her. This shoot is all about the goddesses. The Maiden, Mother and Crone.

I wanted to show how I thought of them.

A maiden, who is not just the personification of virginity, and innocence, but fierce as she is also a goddess of the hunt. She is fierce and seems free from the fear that comes with age and pain. My maiden was most inspired by Artemis.

The mother. She is clearly a mother, personifying fertility with that belly full of the next maiden. Again, I wanted to push more to see the power in motherhood. This isn't the first time you have seen me portray the mother goddess, remember my earlier shoot revolving around her? This mother I wanted to be fierce, intimidating. She creates the world. She holds all the power. My mother was inspired by the Celtic Danu.

The crone. This one was probably the hardest. Not only in finding a model (not many women are good with being labeled "crone") and to show my vision for her. Not only is she wise, beyond the traditional pregnancy age, but she is powerful. Knowledge is power, and she holds it all. She governs death and rebirth, as well as vision and prophecy. But when I also get a clear picture of Rowena, from Supernatural (yep, I'm a sucker for a good CW show) . Sexy, older but still very virile. A predator. My crone was not only inspired by the fictional Rowena, but the Celtic goddess Morrigan.

With all that said. I hope you enjoy your Halloween. May your candy flow freely and your brooms fly straight!

Happy Halloween!
